Incorporating Mushrooms into Your Daily Routine

Morning Ritual

Begin the day with a mushroom coffee to awaken the senses (see recipe below).

Given its typically lower caffeine content and adaptogenic properties, it can boost morning productivity without overstimulation (avoiding jitters later in the afternoon).

Exercise

Integrating morning exercise can enhance the adaptogen’s efficacy (effectiveness).

During the Daytime

Keep a stash of organic mushroom coffee nearby. Hydration is key, so alternate between mushroom coffee and water.

  • ½ mug of cold water.
  • ÂĽ teaspoon ground cinnamon.
  • ÂĽ teaspoon ground ginger.
  • 1 x teaspoon of hot chocolate (preferably Cadbury’s Highlights which is lower calorie).
  • 1 x tablespoon of MCT Oil.
  • 1 x tablespoon of runny honey.
  • A hand whisk or suitable alternative.

Directions

  1. Pour the cold water into the milk, warm it to your preferred temperature (hot but not boiling), and then pour it into a mug.
  2. Add the ground cinnamon, ground ginger and hot chocolate powder.
  3. Add the MCT Oil.
  4. Add the honey.
  5. Measure the mushroom coffee and add the same mug.

Add Cacao and butter for an extra decadent version, and then use a milk foamer to foam up the milk.

Or sprinkle with cinnamon or chocolate nibbles and enjoy.

Adaptogen-Infused Snacks

  • A midday snack could consist of nuts mixed with ashwagandha powder and a piece of dark chocolate to further complement the traditional Chinese medicine philosophy of healing with foods and beverages.
  • Create a trail mix that includes:
    • Nuts of choice
    • Ashwagandha powder (lightly dusted)
